Jesus, it’s been a while since I last wrote a blog post.
Hi, it’s me, Ysabelle, I hope you haven’t forgotten me. I mean, I’ve been keeping up with the gram and ranting about everything and anything on twitter the whole time, but I haven’t taken the time to switch off and sit down and write in a very long time.
Life just gets away from you a bit when you’ve got a lot going on doesn’t it?
In my defense, there has been a lot going on and I’ve really been enjoying just living life a little more than usual (that sounds weird) but I’ve actually just been doing stuff… so I thought I’d take the time to update you on everything that is new in the world of Ysabelle.
*firstly, I don’t have blonde hair anymore…*
We bought a flat
Technically, we actually reserved it and put the deposit down for it over a year ago, but as our lovely little new home is a new build, it has only just been finished! We got the keys on the 8th July and it has just been hectic since then.
We moved into Steve’s parents (my in-laws) house for a month, just outside the city, which was actually really nice (can’t deny I miss being pampered every single day) while we were waiting for a final move in date. It threw off our daily routine so much because we weren’t used to a long commute, I was travelling a lot with work, we were living out of boxes, and enjoying the sunny evenings in the garden, so everything has fallen a bit out of sync to be honest.
We got a couple of days notice for our move in date, and it was all GO GO GO. Luckily, Steve’s parents let us store all of our stuff in their garage so the actual move was easy, but moving house is effort (am I right?!). Especially when you can’t actually move in because you’ve got no flooring…
SO, anyway, we’re in the flat now, and we’ve just been spending all of our time and money sorting stuff out there. It feels so like home now, and there are just a few final touches that need to be made to it for it to be complete (mainly some prints, bookshelves and more plants everywhere).
I got a new job
In the middle of moving house and everything else, I decided to have a bit of a quarter life crisis, evaluate everything I’m doing, where I wanted to go in life, had a minor breakdown, picked myself up, dusted myself off and applied for my dream job.
I only went and bloody got it didn’t I?. I am finaaaaaally working in the marketing side of my sector now and I can’t quite believe it, no more travelling! (YAY). I’m going to write a big blog post about job stuff and career stuff soon because whenever I tweeted about my struggles, there were so many people experiencing the same things.
I made friends
Lol, lame, I know. BUT, it is part of the reason I’ve been so slack over here on the blog front, I’ve been living my best life. I used to spend my Sunday writing or at least trying to write for the blog, but I’ve been spending a lot of time with friends and family over the past few months and I’ve been having the absolute best time. Unfortunately, that has mean’t that my writing Sundays have turned into hungover Sundays. I’m trying to reign it in, I swear.
I have LOTS of new blog post ideas, and I’ve been delving into Grow & Glow (go become a member if you’re not already) and I feel SUPER motivated to get my blog to the best it can possibly be. So watch out… things will *hopefully* be getting interesting over here!
Tell me what is new with you, what have I missed during my blogging hiatus?
